July 2009 / Vanderbilt Hall at Grand Central Station, New York, NY. The installation used Nelson Mandela's life as an inspirational call to action for all of us to change the world for the better. Six giant 3-D lightboxes featured 'action words', populating and enlivening the space. These words -- act, listen, lead, unite, learn and speak -- forge a meaningful connection between Nelson Mandela's lifelong struggle against apartheid and other social injustice, and our own boundless potential for positive social change. Completed at Ralph Appelbaum Associates. Gold Winner, Best Graphical Treatment / 2009 Event Design Awards, Event Design Magazine
